The Accord Foundation partnered with healthcare providers to offer free medical screenings to families in communities across the Greater Accra region.
Access to basic healthcare remains a challenge for many families in Ghana — particularly in communities where clinics are far away, understaffed, or financially out of reach. Preventable conditions go undetected and treatable diseases progress unchecked simply because families never get the chance to be seen.
The Accord Foundation believes that no family should have to choose between healthcare and other basic needs. That is why we organise free health screening outreach events in the communities around us.
In January 2025, the Accord Foundation partnered with local healthcare providers to deliver a free community health screening event in the Greater Accra region.
The screening event offered the following at no cost to participants:
Every individual who received an abnormal result was provided with a referral letter to a nearby clinic for follow-up care, along with guidance on managing their condition.
A single health screening cannot solve systemic healthcare challenges. But it can detect conditions early before they become serious, raise awareness among people who have never had a formal health check, and connect families to the care they need. Communities also see firsthand that the businesses operating around them have a genuine stake in their wellbeing.
The Foundation plans to make health outreach a regular programme. Future events will look to expand into dental screenings, women's health services, child development assessments, and mental health awareness sessions.
