On 22nd December 2025, the Accord Foundation visited Ashaiman Government Hospital to present a large-capacity Polytank to the facility — a donation aimed at addressing one of the most basic but critical needs of any healthcare environment: a consistent and reliable water supply.
The handover was marked with a short ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by hospital staff, community members, and the Accord Industrial Services team.
Water is not a convenience in a hospital — it is a clinical necessity. From handwashing and sterilisation to patient care and sanitation, every function of a functioning healthcare facility depends on it. Interruptions to water supply do not just cause discomfort; they compromise the standard of care that patients receive.
Ashaiman Government Hospital serves a dense, fast-growing community in the Greater Accra Region. For the staff who work there and the patients who depend on it, a reliable water reserve makes a direct and immediate difference.
The Accord Foundation provided a Rambo 1500 Polytank — a large-capacity storage tank manufactured by Polytank Ghana — fully installed on a dedicated concrete base with pump connections fitted. The tank was commissioned on the day of the visit and is now in active use by the hospital.
The tank bears the inscription: Donated by Accord Industrial Services — 22/12/25.
The visit fell just before Christmas — a deliberate choice by the Accord team to mark the season in a way that goes beyond the office and reaches the people and institutions that hold communities together.
Healthcare workers at public facilities across Ghana do vital work, often under significant resource constraints. Supporting them, even in small ways, is something we intend to continue.
