Accord Industrial's civil works division has successfully completed a site preparation and structural foundation project for a new industrial facility in the Greater Accra region.

The project involved full site preparation, earthworks, and reinforced concrete foundation construction — delivered on time and to specification.

Scope of Work

Site preparation

Our team began with comprehensive site clearing and preparation, including:

• Vegetation clearing and removal of existing surface materials
• Topsoil stripping and stockpiling for later use in landscaping
• Excavation to formation level for the building footprint
• Soil compaction testing to verify bearing capacity requirements

Earthworks

The earthworks phase involved:

• Cut and fill operations to achieve the required site levels
• Subgrade preparation with specified compaction standards
• Drainage installation including surface water channels and culvert crossings
• Access road formation for construction traffic and future site use

Foundation construction

We constructed reinforced concrete foundations designed to support the industrial structure, including:

• Strip foundations for perimeter walls
• Pad foundations for structural columns
• Rebar installation to engineering specifications
• Concrete pouring and curing under quality-controlled conditions

Safety performance

The project was completed with zero lost-time incidents — reflecting our commitment to practising the same safety standards we promote through our PPE supply business.

All site personnel were equipped with Accord-supplied PPE throughout the project, including safety helmets, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, and respiratory protection during earthworks phases.
